  Why do animals suffer?

  bonnie is fourteen years old now and she's still fit and active, but she sleeps (and farts) a lot more and is definitely slowing down.. she loves us in her own dumb way and always comes to the door to greet me when i get home from work.

  she doesn't 'sin' but yeah, she'll steal biscuits and feel shame afterwards.

  she's loyal and intelligent and i dread the day when .

  I love my animals more than most humans. This was a sticking point for me as a child growing up in JW land - my animals would not be resurrected and that animals would still die once the new system came????????? How could we be enternally happy while still losing furry friends? Why would Jehovah resurrect people who did terrible things but not my dogs who did nothing wrong? Never made sense to me even as a child.

  Our old dog just died and there is always a big void when you lose a pet that shared so much of our life. I just wished they lived longer........

  Can't Understand Why This Is Allowed

  i moved to roseburg, oregon.

  the jehovah's witnesses are allowed to set up a display and man it right outside of the local library, and they are there every day and hour the library is open.

  i am [redacted], the director of the douglas county library system and wanted to respond to your website email of december 11, 2015. i have consulted with the county attorneys office about your concern about jehovahs witnesses use of the front porch of the library building in roseburg, and my understanding of the law is as follows.. .

  I agree everyone has freedom of speech, but I shouldn't be harassed or intimidated at the local library. Go see the County Attorney in person and explain why you feel they should not be there. They should not be allowed in a place where I would frequent that would make me uncomfortable or unwelcome, if you are shunned mention how awful they are to those who have left, and how it hinders your enjoyment of the library.

  They will go away the minute anyone tries to challenge them, so challenge them. Go to the library every day, send your friends on the days you can't be there.

  Would they allow hate speech? Because that is what the message about the LGBT community is from the witnesses.

  Why do I need an alternative to JW's?

  i don't - I have no need for others to tell me what to do and how to do it. I am happy without them and see no need to replace that in my life.

  first they have two properties listed here 124 columbia and 85 jay street.

  these have to be worth a lot of money.

  Oh boy - cyber bullying has resulted in the loss of many lives?!?! The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society through the Jehovah's Witnesses, at the supposed command of Jehovah has caused the loss of many lives through their teachings and beliefs (disfellowshipping & blood issues anyone?)

  Please don't come to an ex- JW site posting about how great he is and then act like a victim when no one agrees. I don't need your validation of my beliefs, and you do not need mine.

  I had a hard time really feeling anything. Not happy not sad, nothing. The therapist I went to said that sometimes kids brought up in cults have just shut down their emotions because it was all too much for our little minds to deal with.

  You're not alone, it looks like quite a few of us have the same experience. It took me a few years to make progress in this area, I have been out 17 years, and I am happy, have passion, and am at peace with life. Don't let your upbringing be what defines your life now.
